The Civility of Albert Cashier

The Trans Entertainment Guild as part of a residency with the Players Theatre of Greenwich  Village is hosting a twenty-night series to benefit Trans artists and organizations this May, 2022.

Each night will feature a staged concert reading of the award-winning musical The Civility of Albert Cashier — a story about a real life trans civil war hero — followed by roundtables, talkbacks, support sessions and other community events to showcase trans history, cultural exchange, healthcare, wages, and rights. Directed by Mx. Mika Kauffman (they/ze/he) and music directed by Nicole D’Angelo (she/they), the event will be among the first-ever showcases with an all transgender, gender non-conforming and gender expansive cast and creative team in New York theater history.
